Day 2 Marion Virginia

Tuesday Nov 30 Hungry Mother State Park Marion Virginia. Today’s drive was allot of up and down thru  Maryland, West Virginia and into Virginia. Mileage today was only 14.6mpg There are 3 other campers here, the sites are very nice pull thru site with a gravel pad and a fire ring .The showers are old but with lots of hot water and very dim lighting and were very clean.

The campground provides free wifi, water, electric and some sites have a sewer hook up. It is very quiet here but even though the weather today was up near 60 it is down to 34 at 8:00

Not much else today so until tomorrow that’s all folks.

Day 1-Jonestown PA

Monday Nov 29, we have arrived at a KOA in Jonestown Pa the only campground open this time of year in the area. We drove 406/406 total miles today and so far we are averaging 17.6 mpg. We encountered a dusting of snow on the way down and a bit of sleet but all, in all it’s was a good travel day.  It’s 4:30 and already down to 39 degrees we have full hookups but we are still winterized so just using the electric and cable.

We are located very close to the bathrooms/showers very clean and heated, and we are in a pull through site that has a fire ring and picnic table and we are next to the play ground but there are no kids out the wind has teeth. Supper tonight is chicken noodle soup and a turkey sandwich-easy for dishes.

The showers are very clean and one thing we have learned in out travels is if there is a shower never, never put it off until the next day it will be busier in the mornings and we have found the mid to late afternoons is when the showers are the cleanest and not busy so win, win. Plenty of pressure, 2 hooks and a bench seat as our friend Jon a full timer says I would give it an A. Tomorrow. On to Marion Virginia.

Sunday, November 28, 2021

It is Sunday Nov 28, it is +18 outside even the steps on the Navion have ice on them from the recent coating of snow. We are 98% packed including fur blankets, 30 degree sleeping bags and comforters  and we have a furnace that works great! Tonight we are expecting 1-3 inches of snow and we leave first thing in the morning tomorrow. Its time to get out of Dodge!!!!! more to come...
